School closure - information for parents/guardians20 March 2020 (by admin) |
A copy of information we have received:
SENT ON BEHALF OF SIMON MARSHALL, DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION SERVICES 20.03.2020
Dear Colleagues,
To reiterate the Government guidance; we all need to do what we can to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
That is why the government has given clear guidance on self-isolation, household isolation and social distancing.
The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.
As set out by Government, Schools are to remain open to children of Key Workers that provide essential goods and services.
While parents and carers might have a role within the Government’s Key Worker list, many parents and carers working in these critical sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.
Parents of children with social workers or children with an EHCP do not have to send children into school, it is the parents’ choice.
