Following a number of similar queries over the last few days, please spare a few moments to review the information below which consolidates the main messages that we have issued this week.
Children were given a Home Learning Pack last Friday which contained work for the two weeks leading up to the Easter holidays (weeks beginning 23rd March and 30th March). We will upload work weekly onto the school website following the Easter holidays if schools remain closed.
The Home Learning section of our website has links and information that you need to access Accelerated Reader and Twinkl websites. To view this, please select Curriculum and then Home Learning from the menu at the top of the page. This page will also be where new activities will be uploaded after the Easter holidays if schools remain closed. The home page on our website also has a direct link to this page. We recommend that you spare a few moments to familiarise yourself with our website to help you find information more easily.

PLEASE NOTE: For Accelerated Reader, you MUST use the link for Castletown Primary School (it's on the Home Learning page on our website and below). This link is specific for our school. You cannot do an internet search for it. If you try to log in via the general Accelerated Reader website, pupil logins will not work.
For those worrying about running out of library books, children should be able to quiz on some of their own books from home. They can check whether there is a quiz for each of the books they have at home. Search 'ar book finder uk'. Select one of the options: librarian, teacher, etc. It makes no difference. Then, type in the name of the book, part of the name or the author. Sometimes if you type in a full title it might not recognise it, so choosing key words or the author can be more efficient at times. When you hit search, it may yield no results. If you have tried all the options above, then there is no quiz for that book.
Login details for Accelerated Reader were included in the Home Learning Packs issued last week. They will be on a sticker or a sheet within the pack. Most packs will also contain logins for Spelling Shed and TT Rockstars. Logins will be the same that children already use at school or at home.
Derwent Hill 2021. In light of Government advice regarding social distancing, we are putting the Derwent Hill payment schedule on hold. If your child has been offered a place, their place is still secure. We will send a new letter regarding payments when the situation has settled.
For updates, we post messages on Facebook and via the School Jotter app as we recognise that not everyone uses Facebook. For School Jotter, simply download the app, open it and then select Castletown Primary School. Once this is done, you will receive updates from school. You can also view a gallery of photographs of school events and a link to a mobile-friendly version of our website.
