Message from Mrs Lumsdon

27 March 2020 (by admin)

Just touching base with all our children and families at the end of the first week of this very surreal situation. I hope all of you are well, keeping safe and of course working hard!!

To all those parents working on the front line, we are very proud of you and grateful for the work you are doing and we are glad to be able to help you out in a very small way by keeping your children as safe as we can in school.

Numbers of children in school have diminished significantly over the week but, for those of you who need us, we will continue to support you as best we can.

I can tell you that, next week, child care that has been requested will still be in our school. There will be cover for your children over the Easter holidays. As yet I’m not certain how that will work out, or where it will be. As I get more information from the local authority I will share it with you.

To help me with the organisation of Easter cover, if you know you will require support over the holiday period please phone me at school (0191 549 7777) on Monday between 7.30am and 3.30pm, don’t message this page.

Finally, I must say a huge thank you to all my staff who are setting up all kinds of learning platforms and activities for our children and are constantly seeking to improve and increase opportunities to support their learning at home.

Please look after yourselves and your loved ones. Most importantly, keep safe and follow the advice we are all being given so that, as soon as possible, our school community can come back together.

Mrs Lumsdon.
